The Master Plan is a document that sets out the short, medium and long term strategy for the development of water supply and sewerage-treatment services by identifying investment needs throughout the service area in Cluj and Sălaj counties, so as to ensure that the population is provided with adequate water supply and wastewater collection services, at the required quality and at affordable prices, as well as compliance with Council Directive 98/83/EC on drinking water quality and Council Directive 91/271/EEC on urban wastewater treatment.
During 2006, Someș Water Company drew up its first Master Plan, outlining its long-term investment strategy, and updated it in 2012 and 2022. The latest update considered the 30-year development strategy from 2021 to 2051.
